Hi,

several layer effects from LayerFX (Python) crash when I try to select the color in the dialog:
"Plug-in crashed: "layerfx.2.8.py"
(C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\layerfx.2.8.py)" when I click on the color select button.

See attached screenshots.

Crashing effects are e.g. Inner Glow, Inner Shadow...

Any ideas?

There are a few versions of Layer Effects (layerfx). I've had good luck with, layerfx.py (Gimp 2.8.14).

I don't know if this will help but try downloading gimp extensions pack. https://code.google.com/p/gimp-extensions/ (That's what I use and rarely have any problems.)

I have never seen this problem with layerfx before.
You installed yours into (C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\layerfx.2.8.py)"
Try installing them into (C:\users\your user name\.gimp-2.8.xx\plug-ins

Actually my advise is to use the layerfx.py filter because it works better and it works pretty seamlessly with other scripts that call it from the PDB. Many scripts have trouble utilizing the layerfx-2.8.py filter. If i write a scm filter and want to call layerfx i will always use layerfx.py procedures in my script.
