Hi,

I am interested in trying GIMP 2.7.2 on windows. I followed the instructions at http://www.partha.com on how to install the gimp, but when started it can't finish loading, instead I get the error message "This application has failed to start because libgimpui-2.0-0.dll was not found"

Can someone help how to resolve this, please?

Well you could possibly explain it, incase someone else needs to know this.
and I do believe this is not News Worthy with GIMP, could be moved to GIMP Help.

If was fixed so quickly i bet the solution was simply read again the how to install on the partha side
(= add a enviromental variable )

To get rid of that error and have Gimp-2.7.2 run copy all the dll files in gimp-2.7.2/bin folder, and paste them in the gimp-2.7.2/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins folder
restart Gimp-2.7.2

or for more advanced users, just as PC stated add a variable value to the PATH system environment.
It will vary for each platform on where to find your system variables but the path value is the same it is
YourPathHere/gimp-2.7.2/bin - YourPathHere being where ever you placed gimp-2.7.2

Easier way to copy the path with no risk of errors (as typo, extra blank spaces..):
search a file in your gimp/bin folder...the most easy to find may be gimp exe
RIGHT click on the file, chose "propriety"...and highlight and copy the path visible there

then just paste where explained adding a ";" at the end

The GIMP 2.7.2 looks and feels so sweet. This is a well done job.

I wish Partha could work more closely with the GIMP Dev team (besides the financial constraints) in order to accelerate the release of 2.8 version.
