List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
Addon Collection Manager.py

I have the Addon Collection Manager installed and have 2 collections, Brushes and Gradients.

When I tried to select a brush set the dialog below shows and the selected brush set doesn't display.
However, when go to the Gradient Collection and select a Gradient set, it works.

Here's a screenshot of the Addon Collection Manager dialog and also the brush dialog showing that the selected brush doesn't display.

Just above are the Finger Point brushes that should be displayed in the brush dialog.

I was also wondering if it's necessary to install a 64bit Addon Collection Manager, if there's one available and if this even matters or not.

when you have problems with the Collection Manager do as follows:
1-remove ALL entries currently on the relevant gimp folder (in this base: Brushes)
2-clear the file ".active" under the brush collection manager folder (normally brushes_storage)
3-restart gimp and select your set of brushes (should show "activating....")

Yes thank you Dinasset.
I did notice that the file .active was still displaying brushes that were not active. I cleared the active file of it's data and all is well now.

I do not understand why the active file was displaying brushes that were no longer active, but now I know what to do in case this happens again.

Neither do I but if you can reproduce the sequence of steps that gets you there, I'll be happy to know.

I'm not sure how it happened, but I'll try and reproduce it somehow. I'll post whatever I come up with.

I've had to do the same fix in the past. I can't reproduce because I've noticed after the fact. I'm guessing, if the affected brush folder files haven’t changed, an update of either Gimp or the Addon Manager shouldn't affect anything so it's maybe from a crash?

I haven't noticed any kind of Gimp crash.

I was able to reproduce this, but I had to first remove the selected brushes, then go to the .active file and write in the name of the removed brushes. Once I did that, I was able to reproduce this.
I can't explain how this happened in the first place. I guess the .active file was not updated at least after removing the selected brushes.
This doesn't really explain why this would happen in the first place?

It's working fine for me now too, but at one point it failed to update itself and I couldn't load any of my brush sets. I had to clear the .active file manually to get it back to normal.
I still have no idea what might have caused this to happen. :puzzled

My question was of course to reproduce the problem without editing the .active file :)
