I am making a poster and wanted to make some fancy text with file>create>logo (gimpchat.com)>BRL. My question is, after I make the text BRL'ed, how can I make it follow an arc path (and be centered, too) as it's not exactly text any more? Would it be don't the same way as text to path using text?

2-ton: you can use the align tool to center the text and for example the curve bend or i-warp filters to shape it. you'll probably get some unwanted effects by these, though, like jagged edges or pixels showing on the text, so you might have to spend more time correcting things afterwards. why don't you shape the text path instead and then bevel reflect the resulting text?

Warp the text before applying effects...

AnMal and Ofnuts are correct, however.
I do believe you are referring to Text Along Path instead of text to path, to be able to create text that follows an arcing path. You will need to first create the arcing text, before applying the BRL effect to it.

Perfect! Yes text along path first, then brl second. So I cannot use the file>create, I have to make the text follow the arc first, then BRL it, that makes sense, I should have thought of that!

No big deal. :bigthup
Just run BRL form, Filter>Alpha to Logo>Bevel Reflect Logo, after you're done making the changes to your text.
;)
