List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
LayerFX
G'MIC

Hi,

I have two problems. The first is that I am trying to make a gif, and wanted to add some extra filters onto all my layers. So far, I have been using the 'Filter all Layers' function, but I wanted more filters. I was told that I could download extra plug-ins, and so I downloaded LayerFX (Python-Fu), and put it into my plug-ins folder. However, I can't see it? I already installed python, so I'm not sure what's wrong.

Also, I tried installing a different kind of plug-in. So I downloaded G'MIC, but I still have the same issue. For G'MIC, I copied all the contents from the folder into my plug-ins folder, but I'm still not getting the effects. It's not that they are grayed out, they are just not there.

Any help would be appreciated!

On OSX (and other Unix systems like Linux) you have to make sure that the Python file is flagged as executable.

On Linux, you right click the file and go to properties and tick a box. Maybe it's the same for OSX.

'Execute' is an access level to the file, like 'read' and 'write'. On Linux there is the techie way (command prompt: chmod +x the_file and the non-techie way (in the file explorer, right-click the file, select the "properties" dialog and tick the adequate box). Can't tell for OSX, I heard that Saint Steve ruled that the users should not meddle in these matters, so only the techie way (same as Linux) would be available in a bog standard OSX.
