I have previously used DavidWoodFX you-tube tut -Create Jewellery Text Effect with Gimp, however since installing some scripts and plug-ins my SOTA Chrome creates a gold FILLED highlights layer, rather than previously, just gold highlights. Can things often change with new installations? I'm more curious than anything?

I never used this script before.
I found it and will be installing it, to see how it goes.

Edit
I didn't need to install this script,
I had it all along.
I ran it using my name,
with the default settings and this is what it produced.

I'm not sure if this is what the script is suppose to produce.
Does the image above look familiar to you?

Any time you add or remove software things can go wrong. A bit more detail about what you are doing would be helpful. What did you add/remove? What changed in your work flow? Is Create Jewelry Text Effect with Gimp the DavidWoodFX Tutorial you mentioned?

I got the script to work but only on default settings and the script only worked once. This is what I get:
Image

Everytime I wanted to try it again, it would produce nothing.

The script will not allow me to change the emap. I am using version 2.8.16.

It may be likely,
that a script conflict could be the cause of this issue.
Could it be possible that you have duplicate scripts installed?

There is a script,
which you can run that will look at all your installed scripts and show you if it found any duplicates.

I don't think I have duplicate scripts but it can't hurt to look.

Thanks, Wallace. :) I'm running it now. I'll report back here when it's done. It's taking a while.

EDIT:
Wallace, I ran the script but I can't find the .txt file to see if there are duplicates.

I've been using GIMP since v1.2 and SOTAChrome has always been a part of it since that time. Perhaps they have altered it but it seems to be working just as well as it ever did.

My image didn't come out yours that and it was on default settings. Check my previous post. If SOTAChrome was altered, is there an updated script anywhere? Maybe that will solve some problems that users are having.

Yes, I also can't find the text file.

I'm thinking that the script I offered you was an older version.
I downloaded the most recent script form here...

http://gimpscripts.com/2011/11/test-for ... e-scripts/

I'm going to try it out and see if it makes any difference.

This most recent script is located here...

If you open the Error Console, while the script is running.
It should display the results.
Image
Also, with this script there is a text file generated.
I found it @ "C:\Users\Wallace\duplicate_scripts.txt"

EDIT: I ran the script and I have 13 duplicates but I don't see how that should affect the SOTAChrome script. My image isn't like yours. In fact, I can honestly say, that it never was.

Well... at least you found a few duplicate scripts out of the deal.
Other then that, I'm stumped.

I'm wondering if there's an updated SOTAChrome script out there. If not, maybe some one could create one.

I'm not aware of any update for this, but like Oregonian said...

This script works as it should for me,
using Gimp 2.8.16 on Win10 64bit.
That's why I think it may have something to do with your setup.

I'm using Gimp 2.8.16 on Windows 7 64bit. It worked fine with the previous versions. Just not this one.

Did you install the official Gimp build,
or is it form elsewhere?
