I have made my paths, can't figure out how to achieve the results as in the image here, I did it before but have completely forgotten how, I used the beautify shine alpha before, I really do try to work stuff out on my own, but I'm stuck, any help really appreciated.

I downloaded the xcf file.
There seems to be stray anchor points and unconnected anchor points,
which overlap one another.
The paths need to be connected where they can.
Also there are handles shooting out where they shouldn't be.
You want to have as many continual path as possible,
In order to have smooth lines.
There are also paths that run back and on top of where they came from.

No Problem Pat625.
I thought it better to show this in a video,
than me trying to explain it with text.

That's some good path functions you show in the video Wallace. I didn't see you hold down the shift key to constrain the handles while moving them. That's a good one too. Holding shift will also start a new path segment when there are highlighted points. I use that a lot.

I learned a long time ago that you should space your points out with the idea in mind that the handles should define the curve at about 1/3 of the total length of the curve segment. So the handles on each side of the curve are pulled out about 1/3 each side.

I draw paths fast. If I was working on that design that is in the video I would probably just start over and put in all new paths.

@ PegLeg44,
I agree with a do-over of the path design and thanks for adding those tips.
;)

By no means does my short video come anywhere near being a comprehensive paths tutorial.
Hint Hint...
