Hey. I tried to use the color tool on this crib. I'm attaching the xcf file. I'm also attaching a screenshot of what it looked like when I was done. I know I could clean up the white on the brown with a layer mask but that would be a lot of work and I don't think the railings (or whatever you call them--the vertical sticks) would come out straight. So how can I get those railings really free of the white residue and really clean-looking? And does anybody know how to enlarge and lock that docket? Thanks.

With all the straight lines, wouldnt it be easier to cut it out with the frree select tool?

Thanks Norseman. I don't know. I started on it (with the free select tool) but it seems it would be near impossible to get all those sticks even. And the sticks on the side of the crib are even tighter.

If one were so inclined,
he or she could create their own crib using wood textures.

My first suggestion would be to find a different image.
The image you're using is an image that needs to be paid for.

I found an image that looks nearly the same and it 's free to use.

Ha ha. Thanks Wallace. So do tell--where did you get the image? Hmm. Yeah, it's great. And thanks so much for the locking thing. That was making me batty trying to figure that one out. :)

And, Wallace, if you started from that '2101 Crib...' how did you get rid of all that background stuff (flooring, wall etc) so perfectly (in the other image)?

I got the image form an online shopping catalog.

I used selections and a layer mask to remove the unwanted stuff.
Most if not all the major selections,
were for the most part done using the rectangle selection tool and filled in on a layer mask.

Holy cow. You did it flawlessly. I'll have to work on that. (A lot.) Thanks!
