GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

I have been trying to figure out how to get rid of this.

Iget the message Mathmap exe, wont load during start up

I tried searching for the program in the gimp programs and GMIC

I have Windows 10 and used the (search the web and windows) feature and didnt get anything

(0xc000007b) is part of it

Does anyone know how I can hunt down whatever plugin or extension thats causing this?

Gimp works fine and I dont seem to have trouble with anything, except when I start Gimp up
It wont load unless I press OK on the error message

Any Ideas?

It should be in your Gimp User Plug-ins folder.

Under the Help Menu, you'll find the Plug-in Browser.
Type Mathmap in the browser to see the results.

Wallace, I tried that, Nothing came up

Graechan

I usually download gimp from the official web site

I dont remember if I ever downloaded a separate plugin for mathmap
I keep all my downloads in a file and will look to see if I did

Have you tried a system wide file search for the plug-in,
to find out where it might be?

Wallace, I believe I did, but with Windows 10, I may have done it wrong. I was used to XP where I knew how and where everything was. As far as 10 goes ?
Gretch
Pretty sure its the full install. I have the 64 bit

You guys got me pointed in the right direction though, I believe I found it.
Can I safely remove it without it effecting anything else?

As far as I can tell, I must have tried to load either a plugin or script that failed and I forgot about it

I have a bad habit of downloading scripts and plugins if I think they might be remotly interesting, and then stuff like this happens
As I said, everything in Gimp seems to work, and it just at startup where this happens, which is really annoying

By the way being that both of you are knowledgeable as far as gimp goes

Since using Gimp for maybe 4 years. Both of the PCs I have, My brushes and patterns disappear
The ones I make and paste into the brush or patterns file

All the versions of Gimp have done this. Is there a limited amount of pasted brushes or patterns you can use?

If you have a version of Gimp installed, that isn't a off-shoot, of the original build.
Then Mathmap was not part of the installation.

I would also check for any duplicate plugins that might be present.
Check your user plug-ins and Gimp's installation plug-ins for anything which might be a duplicated.

This sounds like it could be something caused by your operating system or a combination of the OS and security software.
At one time I was using Norton Internet Security and it was doing a lot of strange things to my files.
My fonts were disappearing and or showing as invalid fonts and not showing up anywhere.
Have you tried to disable or shut off any security software, to see if this has any effect on the missing/disappearing files?

I am positive that this is an original version of Gimp. I am very leery of second hand sites that may deliver Pups with them

I have been using Avast for security on the old PC and this new one. But if thats the problem, wouldnt it delete all of my pasted brushes or Patterns?
I found some metal patterns I liked and copied and pasted them into the patterns. After a while, some of them disappeared. Some of them are still there
Brushes dont disappear as much as patterns do but notice some do

Two different operating systems and the same thing happens. However, if I download patterns or brushes from Devient art or other sites. They never disappear

Not a real big deal, but Just wondering

Anyway, I will MOVE the suspected file, so if its the wrong one I can move it back

Norseman143 if you go to your plugins folder at username/.gimp-2.8and rename your plugins folder to plugins-old then you should get a clean restart of gimp
