I got this comp (and may well purchase the photo) and this girl has white in her hair (on the right side of her head). I tried to use the clone tool and the healing tool but neither really captured the strands of her hair. I searched around and got some hair brushes but that didn't work at all. How can I paint (or do something else) her hair so it looks good? Thanks.

If you purchase the photo.
It will not contain watermarks.

Using the clone tool is your best bet.
Or finding another photo without watermarks.

Thanks Wallace. But it wasn't the watermarks. (see new attachment). I'll try the clone tool again but with it I couldn't capture the strands of the hair with it.

I did this using the clone tool and a bit smudging.
It's not perfectly done.
I just wanted to show you that with a little finesse and attention to detail it can be done very convincingly.

I clone to a layer above the main image and use the smudge tool, set to a smudge rate of about 85 to refine the cloned parts.

Thanks Wallace. That definitely works. What did you mean by you clone to a layer above the main image? Do you make a copy of the image and then work on the top one? (That's what I did.)

What I mean,
is that I create a new layer above the main image.

Go back to my main image and with the clone tool,
I take a sample form the main image.

I then go to the new layer above the main image,
with the clone tool still active,
I then paint with the clone tool onto the layer above my main image.

All the cloning samples are now on their own layer,
which makes it a bit easier to alter/edit, without destroying the main image.
