GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

When I'm running the Icecream video capture tool, GIMP starts behaving oddly:

- I have to press then Enter key after selecting any tool.
- Dockable dialogs can be un-docked, but cannot be re-docked.
- Layers cannot be reordered by dragging (is there some hot key for this?).
- The brush outline disappears entirely, and often the tool shape will not update when switching tools.
- Zoom (which is mapped to my mousewheel) stops working, but starts working again if I manually change the zoom through the View->Zoom options.

Any ideas?

You could be maxing out your memory running both programs.

I agree with Kimba.
Next time you do this.
Check the Task Manager, to see what's going on.
Chances are, your memory is maxed out as well as your CPU usage.

Thanks, guys! I'm pretty dumb; I thought somehow the hotkeys of the recording software were interfering with GIMP's UI, but being out of memory makes much more sense. I'll run a few experiments when I get home to see if I can eliminate some other tasks that might be running and get it going properly.

I'll keep you posted!
