GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: windows 10
GIMP Experience: Basic Level



Hi guys ;)

I have a problem with double text in my interface. With basic theme it's ok but when i install ony other theme this happens - do you have any ideas ? I appreciate your help :)

Rather than double text, the text looks like it has been bump mapped or beveled to give it depth rather than just flat text.

It may be a theme property that is doing it.

It's the highlighting that is done on all menu entries.

Because these are inactive entries, the font colour has been set to dark, but the highlighting is hard-coded and impossible to theme.

On the Default theme this isn't a problem as the background is very similar to the highlighting.

On Dark themes you get to see the highlighting.

You either have to get used to it, or try and find a theme that uses a different GTK+ theme engine that doesn't draw the highlights (not so easy on Windows)

I'm fairly new to Gimp with very little tech know-how, running Win7 Gimp 2.8, the themes I've attached all work fine for me, they may be of some use?

I checked the Dark GIMP_Orange theme (on GIMP 2.8.18 Windows 7):

The "Gray" theme from a relatively recent GIMP 2.9.??? build is a nice compromise as it's made the background of the menus a bit lighter:
