 Post subject: how do you lock the background? I keep grabbing it, super annoying!

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Linux
GIMP Experience: Basic Level



I found how to do it, in the preferences -> display -> checkstyle-> whiteonly, but I don't see a delete post button here

then you have to carefully match it up to the checked background by dragging it back.


Why don't you just use Ctrl-Z to undo the move? AFAIK a 'lock layer position' is in the works.

This isn't what you are looking for... It just makes the bottom of the canvas white so that you don't see that your background has moved....

Just to show that layer lock is coming ;) but back to standard Gimp

Use move active layer. There is even a toggle, hold the shift key down when using the move tool. Just make sure you are on the correct layer.

Otherwise just go to the beginning post and put next to the title - [solved]
