Error on start up

Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Hello friends

When i start GIMP 2.8.20 the next error window appears.

So i need your help/

sorry, I don't have 2.8.20 installed, hope some of those (not many) who installed it under Windows will tell you something useful

I will uninstall gimp 2.8.20

I will install again gimp 2.8.18

I will wait for the 2.10 Ver.

Did you check to see if the .dll
file in question,
is indeed missing form Gimp's program files bin folder?
If it is missing.
You can try and add this libwebkitgtk-1.0-0.dll file attached below,
to the specific bin folder location in the error message and see if it works.

a question :

Is it possible to add the missing files to the install file of GIMP ?
This way the next user will not encounter these errors.

Here are the other 2 .dill files.

I do believe these .dll files are part of the Gimp installer.
However,
there seems to be something causing them to not be installed onto your machine.

Perhaps it's something on your computer,
which is not allowing these .dll files to be installed.

You could,
disable/turn off any security software,
during the Gimp installation.
To see if this has any effect.

I found this report...

Many warnings at startup GIMP 2.8.20

Upon looking at the attachments of this report.
It seems as though some of the same .dll files,
are also reported as missing.

Could also send an e-mail to the author.

They are not really missing they are just missing procedures. If you replace all the new gimp-2.8.20 dll files with those from 2.8.18 my bet is that it will work.

My advice is to wait until developers fix it.

Gimp 2.8.20
Beginner Level
Windows 10 64bit
"The procedure entry point _ZdlPvy could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\libpoppler-56.dll."

I've read this thread and was able to solve two other .dll problems (thank you). I've searched for hours for a solution on the web without luck. Is this .dll file available as the others in this thread were? Is it someplace I can go to retrieve it? Any help is appreciated.

If not, my last resort: I can try to uninstall gimp and reinstall after disabling AVG, Glarysoft, Malwarebytes, Spybot, Windows Defender.

When I installed Gimp 2.8.20, I had my Antivrus and Malwarebytes disabled. I get the same errors. I tried replacing the dll's but it didn't help. Can't wait for the new release!
