 Post subject: gimp 2.8.20start error

GIMP Version: 2.8.20
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User


How do you do?
I have installed gimp2.8.18 then I want to install gimp2.8.20.I closed anti-virus,and linked internet to install gimp2.8.20.After finishing installing, I started it then error came.But I find that 'libstdc++-6.dll' was in that folder but why cannot be located.
I guess that maybe gimp2.8.18 was first uninstalled then gimp2.8.20 can be installed?Or gimp2.8.20 cannot be accepted in windows7 x64?

'The procedure entry point .ZdlPvy could not be located in the dynamic link library libstdc++-6.dll'

Have you tried creating a new GIMP user profile,
to see if this helps?

Welcome and fear not! These errors are in 2.8.20 and in 2.8.22 as well. I get them every time but Gimp still runs ok. I submitted bug reports, but the developers don't have the problem. Several others users have the problem as well, so I'll keep talking to the developers, looking for a solution.

I've got the same error messages but I also have no problem with it working. Unless of course something in the errors is something I don't know how to use in the first place.
I will keep my eyes open for a correction update. :tyspin

Most likely you have more than 1 libstdc++-6.dll in GIMPs path.
Check to make sure you don't have 1 in the /.gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder and also 1 in the C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin folder.
IF there is one in the plug-ins folder remove it.

I searched out "libstdc++-6.dll" and found it in many locations from many programs. I renamed all the duplicates "libstdc++-6.dll.duplicate" in all the folders that are Gimp and G'Mic related. I didn't touch any that were related to any other program.

End Result? Success!!
