Hello all -

I'm working on a project which spoofs the Grantland archive site (Grantland was a Sports and Entertainment site owned by ESPN/Disney and was shut down in late 2015).

I am trying to think of ways to modify two of my own photos in the style of Britney Spears and David Duchovny portraits. Any suggestions on how to begin?

You could try running,
G'MIC> Artistic> Graphic Novel.
Also try,
G'MIC> Artistic> Graphic Boost.
On the Britney Spears and David Duchovny images.

This might give you a good start.

Thanks for the ideas. On the Duchovny, I wonder if there is a way to adopt more of a structured cubism so that it more closely resembled the facial features. Perhaps Mosiac?

Thinking aloud ... feedback appreciated.

For the Britney Spears image, perhaps using Quantize and then some Graphic Novel?

Yes,
I think you're on the right track with combining those G'MIC filters.

oh i love fake painting things! a suggestion for the david duchovny style: run the g'mic filters with output set to new layer, and then judiciously blend the layers by using layer masks and painting on them yourself. these effects really work best if there is a human deciding where there is too much simplifaction and to what degree colours should be changed. if that makes any sense!

When you say G'MIC filters, do you mean the Graphic boost and Graphic Novel filters mentioned above, or did you have others in mind?
