Greetings, this is my first post.
I've been messing for months now with a basic custom 90s vibe game cover that I'm trying to come up with. Currently there are 100 active layers consisting of transformed external images. The problem is, cover doesn't look tight. Resolution is 3200, scaling down the image zooms out all the ugliness. Taking a quick peek at real official covers is such a relief to my eyes in comparison. No matter how much stuff there is it looks like it's coming from a single channel, even the most basic ones with 5 colors look neat, one solid stamp. Whereas mine looks like it's coming from 20 different channels, it takes a little bit of time for eyes to process of what is going on. Layer masks that are duplicated, desaturated, inverted along with various modes,, curves, levels, auto adjustments, all the tricks I've googled do improve the appearance, but none of it matter. It feels like I'm trying to improve the output of my monitor in particular area rather than image itself. This 'digital look' might fit in web design, but it nowhere near resembles paper. It's like battling with an actual monitor lamp giving you physical shadows. It's like spending 15 minutes trying to make a choice between two colors with different settings, but in reality both are invalid. It's like painter mixing his colors and about to deliver that epic touch, but when he does, everything turn into s*it, because regardless of his greatness, it's toilet paper he's trying to paint on that needs to be fixed. I don't know how to fix it, that's how I feel. I can't even work anymore my right eyeball is bleeding...
