This one's been bugging me for a while. How can you set the Magic Wand tool to make a selection globally vs the default locally? Basically select all similar color regions on an image at once, instead of Shift+Clicking on all regions. I can't seem to find the setting or shortcut to do that.

Thanks.

Best thing there would be to use the tool that does that job. :colsel
This is fine unless you have a part of your image that you do not want selected but then you can subtract selections after as well :subsel

Just incase you don't realise (I know I didn't straight away) there is the option to change the threshold on the 'wand' tool where it will pick up many tones of the same colour. depending how big you put it. It is in the tool options when using this tool.

Isn't that what the "Selection by color" (:colsel) is supposed to do?

Ah, yes. I didn't even know what that tool was for actually. Most image editors I've used allowed to switch back and forth for global selection using the magic wand, so I naturally thought Gimp would do the same. I had no Idea there was a separate tool for this purpose. I learned something new today and will use it in the future.
