Do not use more than 6.0 in the parameter.

No problem in changing the colour (samj's 2.10.6).

Turbulence is 1.0 and opacity is 100 and yet when I went to change the color of the fog, that is when the error comes up. I'm using Windows 10.

I downloaded the standard version of gimp from gimp.org. That's where I always go for updates.

Then I can't double-check.
As long as 2.10 has not reached a very stable configuration, I prefer to continue with samj's portable packs.

There are some plugins like foggify where the colour-picker does not work.

The work-around is
1. Set the foreground colour to what you require.
2. right-click in the foggify Fog Color entry
3. Choose Foreground Color from the drop down menu.

That will get it working for you.

Only to inform mackenzieh that also in Partha's portable 2.10.6 (just released) Fog is running OK for the std color selection (i.e. w/o the FG trick).

have the same filter on a .scm file created by a Coder: “kward1979ukin” deviantart.com, then was last modified/tested by Paul Sherman [gimphelp.org] for Gimp 2.10. Here I share the Fog.scm with you.

Place the fog.scm on the same place you have the 3rd party scripts in you personal Gimp directory: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\scripts and start Gimp and you can find it in the same location you had it in Gimp 2.8: Filters> Renders> Clouds> Fog. I hope this settle for you.

Works as designed in Linux, must be a Windows thing.

As clearly undersandable by previous posts, Windows has nothing to do with the crash:
- in the pack prepared by samj it works perfectly
- in the pack prepared by partha it works perfectly
- in the std gimp official release you can use rich's trick about the color selection (which is a problem of that gimp packaging, not of Windows).

I agree with dinasset, it have to be the Gimp std version packaging. It's the same problem with the Layerfx.py, it work with Samj version and Partha version. The Developers, Partha and Samj should get together, I'll tell you, they could create the most powerful Gimp program there is. Just a thought!

Layerfx.py works for me. I just put it in the plugins folder with the folder Layerfx. Every .py file I have, I have to create a new folder with in the plug-in folder and add the plug-in to it.

Rich2005's work around worked. However, I still think the issue with the color picker when using fog, should be on the list to be fixed.

Thanks for the bug report. From what I read, I'm not the only one experiencing this problem and there hasn't been an update for a fix. The most recent post was 2 weeks ago.
