1) Currently unable to update GMIC-Qt in GIMP 2.10.6 PORTABLE SAMJ-8-21-18 RELEASE 64 bit.
Present version GMIC-Qt (on Samj 2.10.6) is 2.34 which has 507 filters.

Noticed that some versions of GMIC-Qt shown in tutorials on you tube have 530 + filters.

Tried to update filters via both GMIC-Qt Settings drop down box & the Internet symbol box on lower GMIC-Qt screen.
Any attempt yields following error message
"GMIC ver 2.34 (ver 2.40) error message"

2) After multiple attempts to update the files went to the GMIC website & downloaded the
Windows 64 bits: zip archive and replaced the GMIC-Qt files that came with
Samj Portable 2.10.6 64 bit with the new files in the ver 2.40 zip file.

New v2.40 files placed under subdir \64 BIT\Preferences\plug-ins and "old v2.34 files removed".

3) The GMIC-Qt filters in the ver 2.40 update only have 397 filters. Any attempt to update filters results
in same error message indicated above.

4) Information in Readme file included in zip file indicates that the GMIC-Qt files are indeed v 2.40

Questions-
A) Why can't Gmic-Qt files in GIMP 2.10.6 PORTABLE (SAMJ-8-21-18 RELEASE 64 bit be updated ??

B) Why only 397 filters in GMIC-Qt ver 2.40 zip files downloaded from GMIC website.

Hi,
I just updated the SAMJ portable and without problems. I deleted the files in the Gimp-2.10.6_Portable-32bit-64bits\Preferences\plug-ins\gmic_gimp_qt folder and extracted from the zip to the same folder.

Did you put the files in the plug-ins folder or in the plug-ins\gmic_gimp_qt folder?
