Does anyone know where I can find the official GIMP 2.8 Portable version? I've looked all over, and the only one I can find is from a place called PortableApps, but it's got the PortableApps watermark on it, so I'm not entirely comfortable using it. It seems that said website has added their own custom files into the GIMP Portable they are providing; Just not fond of that. I'd rather get an untouched original version of it.

I was wondering if the original and official portable version of GIMP 2.8 was still out there somewhere. Could you provide a download link for it if you know where I can get it from?

There is no 'official' portable Gimp. The one from PortableApps is 32 bit only - Why?- to make it more universal and portable.

Gimp 2.10.8 from gimp.org has problems with the 32 side. It does not work in some (most) Win7 32 bit installations. see: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/issues/2482

If you are using a 32bit Windows computer the Gimp 2.10.6 is the version that currently works.

There is no problem with Gimp 2.10.6 from PortableApps.com (apart from bloated and some icons)

Old versions, you have to dig them out, Partha and the internet archive perhaps. I got an old version that way one time.

@dinasset, Thankfully I'm running a 64 bit OS, and the version I got from the link you provided is exactly what I'm after

@rich2005, oh, I always thought they were done by the GIMP Team. My bad.

I just wanted to have an older portable version along side an installed up to date version so I get the best of both worlds. I just didn't want to have a portable version that had watermarks and whatever other custom files in that wasn't original to GIMP. It just seems a bit sketchy for me. I'm weird like that.

I'm having a problem with the 2.10.8 portable on Partha's site. I download and extracted the file (Windows 64-bit), but the "portgimp-2.10.8-std.exe" don't do anything when I double click it.
