Hello everyone,

I would like to create something similar like in the attached image bellow. How can I create something like this?

I tried supernova and then blurring it but the rays were exceed way too far even in the lowest setting. I also tried radial gradients that also did not help much. I want the rays to be just enough long from the center I need the color change be as smooth as possible, no sharp edges.

Thanks.

I used light rays in GMIC and then made the length very short, then used the airbrush in GIMP and filled the center with a solid, Gaussian blur to desired effect.

Two layers.

First Layer black, solid color

Second Layer on top:

Ellipse select tool, fixed ratio 1:1, feathered edges
Bucket fill tool, foreground color fill
Invert selection
Supernova tool, color red, oncanvas control on like racer-x shows, play around with radius and spikes
Ellipse select tool; Select -> feather at about 200 (play around a bit), Select -> invert, clear
Ellipse select again, invert selection
Gaussian blur

made this:

I guess if you play around with some layers and different colors for the supernova effect you'll get the desired effect.
