 Post subject: What's the best tool to snip out corners

Cutting Corners, Gimpless

File comment: I will try to attach a file of my project but basically I am trying to clip the white corners to make this just a circle. I saved it in a .xcf and perhaps that is why it is not allowing me to scissor them off. Thank you in advance.

Layer>Transparency>Add alpha channel. Then you should be able to make the corners transparent (of course, save as PNG).

OTOH, this image is terribly blurry, I assume you upscaled a smaller image?

If you have a circle, it's easy to use (add alpha first) circle selection tool, invert, delete.
But, seeing the quality of that image:

a.) remake it in high resolution.
b.) download from wikipedia. There's also a .svg version that's more useful.
