Hi Gimp Users

When I use the Unified tool and make a ZOOM in to the picture
I can not see the handle or corners of the tool to make the changes.
How can I zoom in and use the tool ?

Thanks
Doron

There is a "correct/ readjust" button. Just click on that. It's meant exactly for cases like that.
(Maybe it's called different in your language, but I'm sure you'll find it.)

Use "View > new view". This will get you a second view in your image.

  • Keep the second view at standard size (or zoomed out...)
  • Start the transform tool while the standard size window is active
  • Make sure that the tool options has "composited preview" checked (otherwise the layer in the zoomed window wil be transparent)
  • Apply the tool in the standard window, while checking the results in the zoomed window
  • You can of course zoom/scroll the zoomed window
  • When done you can close the secondary view, as long as there is at least one view Gimp keeps the image, and will complain if you try to close the last view without saving
  • Btw, the title bar identifies the view: in the X.Y number after "Imported" the X is the image identifier ("1" because this is the first image I loaded after I started Gimp, and Y is the view number ("0" for the one created by default, then "1", "2"...)

Example: aligning the wing edge to a vertical guide:

I am sure that nelo will be along soon with more information, however the "Readjust" button is the middle button in the Unified Transform Information window.
