With "custom" Kernel, in the preview at the top left, this appears:

Assuming it's related to the "Custom Kernel", I changed several numbersand after click on update, the top left preview changes, changing from 1 to 0, add a black square but on the source image I do not see any change.

Would there be a tutorial for this filter?

It isn't necessarily that noticeable always, but I definitely see it when I play.
Make sure you don't have Channel(s) on some strange mode?

Yes, it's a structuring element.
I have also the morphop.exe plug-in.
Using it, you will get better idea of the plug-in. You change the structure by clicking the blocks on the structuring element window.

Attached. I believe it's compiled by Samj, most of my Windows plug-ins are from the Samj zip archives.

I used this structure to create hearts in my last image, there's lot you could do with your imagination!

I might be able to help, but Debian 10 (buster), default Gimp is 2.10.8 and the next up is Debian Testing (bullseye) with Gimp 2.10.22 Not sure how you get Gimp 2.10.14

In a console can you use the command
lsb_release -a

Which gives the version information

In Debian 10 (buster) the gimp-gmic plugin is already in the repo. Start up synaptic search for gimp-gmic and install. That gives an old version of gmic 2.4.5. That might be ok.

If you come back with the version details I might have a fix for a 32 bit update to gimp-gmic 2.9.1

Final question. Are you using a chromebook by any chance ?
