No its not! of course i googled first as i do with all things. In my gimp, the newest version, wait let me get a pic for you! DO YOU SEE IT ANYWHERE IN THAT MENU? LOL

Actually, the command is there. The context in which it appears in the layers menu seems to be that there is an active or perhaps selected text layer.

Is the text layer active ? Is the text layer still a text layer
The entry only shows with an active text layer. Either the layer menu or the layer dock menu

yes, i tried that too, selected the layer and then the menu layer, and its not there. I just did a workaround, creating a png and brought that in to work on. Thank you though. It also says if you edit the txt er like an image? sorry dont know the exact terms, that its no longer txt and becomes an image, i saw that happen a couple times last night, as when i changed the letters it said i would revert back to txt.

I was working on a collapsed txt .. layer, perhaps thats why it doesnt show in the menu? I dont know.

I just tried to repeat it, and could find the item in the menu if its not collapsed, and i could un-collapse it by 'boxing' it with the txt tool, didnt realize it un-collapsed it, sorry i dont know the proper terms. I know that makes people crazy. I think this is what i kept seeing:

Not sure what your challenge is, but you need to read. I used google, i saw that, as i said before. You are being so rude i cant believe it. I said, i always google first! That was not the answer, if you took the time to read, you would know that!
