I just installed gimp and messed around with a few brushes. But then i could not find any way to unequip them.
I have triedd everything i could but i could not find or see how to unequip them.
I tried searching it on the internet but no hope.
Edit:Just to make things more clear,i cant switch to other tools,i am stuck with a brush.
here is the things i tried:
Going to the "Preferences" menu and resetting them.
Deleting and reinstalling gimp.
I will add more as i try stuff.

Are you saying that you can't change or switch to using any of the other tools?

Brush will stay the same until you change it. The chosen brush works for many tools so you may need to choose a different brush for different tools. Otherwise if you want to use a different tool just click on that tool
:blur blur/sharpen, :burn dodge/burn, :eraser eraser, :clone clone, :heal heal, :smudge smudge, :pencil Pencil all use the chosen brush. So if you want to use these tools you may need to change your brush as well.

You can try going to Edit > Preferences and resetting everything back to default.
To see if this helps.

If after you have tried what Wallace mentioned and you still have trouble, make sure you do not have any selections (Marching ants). When you have selections you can only work inside of them and most tools will not work outside of selections.

Hi Arda572010! Maybe it's your PC mouse. I had a similar situation and it turns out I need it to update the mouse driver. Once I did, I could switch from tool to tool. Also, you can uninstall and reinstall GIMP to see if that work. Good luck!

With GIMP open go to the menu tab Edit and down near the bottom is Preferences.

Don't give up on us yet...Can you give us a screenshot of your gimp and we may see what the problem is.

There could be a user profile issue of some sort.
By deleting the folder or changing the current user profile folder's name.
Will force GIMP to create a new user profile upon it's next launch.
Once this is done you can check if this behavior remains an issue.

Usual location of GIMP user profile folder when installed on Windows:
C:/Users/yourname/AppData/Roaming/Gimp/2.10
