In GIMP 2.10, when using the "lasso" tool, why is it when I circle something I don't see the "marching ants" until the tool is de-selected?

I can't find a setting for this.
In GIMP 2.8, the "marching ants" is seen as soon as the selection is completed.

In 2.10 you need to press Enter to complete the selection.
After completing the "circling" you can alter the anchor points and then press Enter

Thank you very much. Glad it was a simple answer.

I find it confusing in the upgrade also. This would drive newbies nuts. Although it offers more functionality for advanced users, it's hard on starters, potentially giving OSS a bad reputation. I would suggest a re-pondering of this odd behavior. Note that Enter seems more likely to work the further the mouse cursor is away from the (intended) meet point.
