Diolog box stuck and notaccessable

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Linux
OS Version: Ubuntu 22.04
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

I can neither move the text configuration box and it displays out of the area (see screenshot) . Any idea how to fix that?
I can't change the colour in that position.

If you select the A (the text tool) in the toolbox you can change the color there from tool options dialog window.. And any other settings.
My advice is to save your work XCF file and reopen Gimp. That should fix the text box.
Windows>Dockable Dialogs>Tool Options.

You can move the whole canvas to the left by dragging with middle-click. This will also shift the on-canvas text widget (the other way to move the canvas, which is moving the mouse after pressing the space bar, is of course not possible when you are entering text).

Is it not possible to move a dialogue box? The location where this type of boxes pop up are random for the user.

Yes, zooming out works! As long as the object (the text box) doesn't become too small.

Not at all, it's always exactly at the same place relative to were you clicked to start the text layer.

Hi gimp-o-matic.
You have a very old version of Gimp for Ubuntu 22.04. The Gimp shipped with 22.04 is Gimp 2.10.30.
You could do with an up to date with Gimp IMHO

That is not a Gimp 2.8 - Gimp 2.8 does not have a warp tool icon

I have 2.10.30. The website somehow reset my entry while creating this topic.
