If your bookmark to the GIMP online manual doesn't work, it's because they changed the link.

There's now a manual for GIMP 2.4, GIMP 2.6 and Gimp 2.8

http://docs.gimp.org/2.4/en/

http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/

http://docs.gimp.org/2.8/en/

:gimp

Woot, thanks for that link! Oy, yet another link to get lost on my very very long bookmark list. Is there a links page here where important links are put up?

:lol I don't know 2-ton, but I'd bet there will be stickies to important things when things are finished. You are seeing the beginning stages of a website and much is going to be going on in the building department. After things are kind of put together, suggestions from members will be very gladly received. So make a list. GnuTux is great about being as accommodating as he can to members.
Once things are working well, there will be a tips forum so that the new buttons and things will be explained.

I turned the whole site into an ebook a few months ago. That way I can take it with me when I'm in the park working on something. After reading that I now see that i have no life if I go to the park to work with gimp, the fact is that I do :(

http://gms9810.com/I don't know if anyone has a need but I took the manual listed above and packaged it into one EXE file that can searched and copied etc. I find it to be handy when I can't be online. if anyone wants it I put it on my website due to it's 25 meg size. I'm currently remodeling and only have two items listed, the manual and some fractals so it won't be hard to find.

PS: the fractals might be interesting, I put them online for my Facebook friends. Feel free to scrounge around if you wish.

@Gms9810, Your pix look good, but I don't see the fractals or the exe.

Gimp-2.7.x differs quite a bit from 2.6.
Can anyone point me to a site where I can get up to date info about 2.7?
I bought a book "Gimp Bible" more than a year ago.
It was supposed to be based on 2.8 but lots of subjects are different in 2.7.
Thanks in advance.
Gerard.

Ok I cant find a place where this is. I seem to have closed my text dialogue tool box on the left and dont know how to get it back. I realize there is a floating text box while in editing but have yet to learn how to use it. Can someone tell me how to get the other back please?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not sure what I did but it is back - on the top right now
