I was wondering if there is another way to open Inkscape from Gimp. I thought I had seen something like this before.

This a demo in Win 10 / Gimp 2.10.34 / Inkscape 1.2.2

Using the Gimp_to_Inkscape.py plugin version 0.4.2 from post #31 viewtopic.php?f=9&p=188222#p187074

https://youtu.be/eXUbvQXP2sM 3 minutes duration, might get you started.

@MareroQ

Works ok here, linux Gimp 2.10.34 (from PPA) and Inkscape 1.2.2 (appimage) with one provision ;)

The path returned from Inkscape is fine but the rendered image shrinks. Looks like the old Coreldraw 90 <> 96 dpi issue. Fixed here using Inkscape: Extensions -> Document -> DPI 90 to 96 before save/close

A 60 second demo of that https://i.imgur.com/w7CNvkB.mp4

Not the same as version 0.42 which renders the correct size (at least it does here)

This plugin is interesting. You can easily open what you created with gimp, to inkscape without having to go back and forth between programs. I like it. :)

Thanks everyone for testing. :hi5

@Rich2005.
Thanks for the mp4 demo and reporting the DPI issue.
I did not check the added function "Return to GIMP with:"SVG Rendering as New Image" for the Exported Path case (only for the Exported "Active layer" case).

If you are interested, I invite you to download the corrected version 0.5.1 M and test it.

If nobody reports bugs Ver.0.5.2 will be the final version.
A bit off topic:
The plugin-autotrace_P.py also has a preview version (preview better than in Inkscape? :hehe )
