But a ffriend of mine has some of your plug-ins installed into the right place and can't see them in the list.
I can't help her as I don't know the reason.
She is in windows 10. and Gimp 2.10.36
Here a shot but she doesn't even see tools - and options.

Are these .scm scripts or .py plugins? If they are .py are they in the plugins folder and does she have Python installed?

Is it a regular Gimp install from www.gimp.org ? or something like the samj portable. ? It should not make any difference except for the location of the Gimp user profile. If a separate Python has been installed that can break Gimp. Not necessary, Windows Gimp comes with python installed.

For a regular Gimp C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins
For a samj portable ..path-to....\Preferences \ plug-ins

Not much help if the plugins do not show using right-click in the Paths dock but worth a try is using the Gimp Search Tool - the [?/] key on my keyboard.

It might go like this: Enter ofn as a search term https://i.imgur.com/O77v8r8.mp4

Many of the plugins have requirements, so keep those help files that come with Ofnuts plugins.

Thank you so much rich2005.
Sorry I hadn't told that she has version samj portable.

I attach the windows she gets when open Procedure Browser.
So only one is working for her.

If this one gets fixed, it might fix mine. I have some python plugins working but many don't.

That is not looking very hopeful.
If you can get your friend to give you a screen shot of the plugins folder that might show up any problems.

Such as;
Plugins in their own folder with different names. For Gimp 2.10 just put the something.py in plug-ins. Sub folder are not generally required for single file plugins.
Downloaded plugins that have not been un-zipped. It has happened.

As well as search (shown earlier) and the procedure browser there is the plugin browser.
The plugin browser shows the menu location.
For the procedure browser search by authors name. Earlier ofnuts plugins have a different naming convention.

This is what I get, not a lot of help in the context of the problem.

Knowing which plugins that does "not" work, could help us help you faster,

On your first screenshot, you're showing a right click in path, Ofnuts does not put everything in there, also did your friend restart GIMP?

Did she read the manual? Ofnuts always write a manual (HTML) to find out where is the menu entry of the plugin.

I know it's basic questions, but it happens that people don't read the manual, and we need to start somewhere ;)

I can not see anything wrong with the plug-ins folder, other than the large amount of plugins ;)

I do not think I will be much help. I have a samj 2.10.32 in a Win10 (VM) Not all Ofnuts plugins show with a ofn search. This one you have to look for gradient, that shows both looking inside the file and with the plug-in browser.

The only thing I can suggest and it is a long shot. In the Preferences folder rename the file pluginrc to pluginrc-backup and restart Gimp. All the plugins are scanned again and a new pluginrc is created.

I do not think you can start a samj Gimp in a terminal and show error messages, a bit of a handicap. It might be the samj 2.10.36 version, I do not know

I am sure Ofnuts will be along soon with more suggestions.

Yes, she has Phyton installed.

There is no need to install Python if you use the Windows version orf Gimp (it comes with its own built-in). In fact if you install an external Python you usually break the Python support in Gimp.

Thank you so much ofnuts for your help.
I said she had Python installed but not independently.
She has it with her version samj portable.
Thanks.

When I started the thread I used a shot of mine to show what was the problem. she can't get visible in path list even Tools at the end of it. so the options either.
I think that if she removes the plug-ins and then she installs one to one again, Could that work? Thanks ofnuts.

The fact that a single one works is weird. I would think that something corrupted the other ones and they now elicit syntax errors when they run, so they don't register. Running gimp-console.exe may help. Otherwise, re-extract them from the ZIP files.

Has the pluginrc file been rebuilt? :gaah
The second part of post #11 by Rich2005 (you can also safely delete it because a new one will be created).

Thank you Rich and MareroQ. I haven't tested all my plugins but for me, renaming pluginrc worked. :yes :hi5

Thank you all for your interest and help.
Unfortunately none of the options worked.
tried removing pluginrc opened gimp and it didn't work.
then she removed the ofn-plug-ins installed and installed only one downloaded from the official ofnuts website, it didn't work for my friend either.
She also thanks you for your help and kindness.
The thread is closed and thanks to everyone
Happy that you, Erisian got to solve yours. :tyspin :) :tyspin
