I asked over at Annex Cafe Fonts if the font could be converted and this is the reply I got.

No. An .afm file contains only metric information and no outlines. That is, it includes such data as kerning pairs and size data, but no letter shapes. You can open and look at an .afm file in any text editor (The text in this message IS the attached .afm file.
.afm files are usually seen along with .pfm and .pfb OR .inf and .pfb files. They are NOT particularly part of .mac fonts, but are associated with Type 1 fonts, usually PC. Mac Fonts and PC/Windows fonts can be converted back and forth.
