I am pretty sure that theme selector is buggy in Windows systems. It doesn't work in Windows XP either.
Use Gimpers - http://gimp-tutorials.net/downloads/gim ... s-v1-0.zip

Install it - open the theme program and select a theme...click okay to except the gtkrc file overwrite.
This only works well for Gimp-2.6 versions though. As it copies theme folders and engines into gimp-2.6 directories.

Remember you can only change the theme through the Themes-v-1.0 program itself, not through Edit/Preferences/Themes.Did you try using the theme selector the program installs into the bin folder?

Alternatively you can just place all the dll engine files in the
C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gtk-2.0\2.10.0\engines folder
Normally the theme installer does this for you.Just check to see if they are there.

And then just pick a theme folder gtkrc file
Image

And then paste the file in your user/.gimp-2.6 folder for instance mine is here.
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner.FAMILY-ROOM\.gimp-2.6

Where Compaq_Owner.FAMILY-ROOM is your user name folder.
(it will overwrite the existing one), so make a backup if you wish.

Restart Gimp

Pretty easy to do it that way whenever you want to change themes. :)

No it does not work with Gimp-2.7 UNLESS you move the files into the program directory like i just explained.
The theme gtkrc files and engine (DLL) files will work on any version of gimp installed.I even have it working on Gimp-1.2 :)

You just have to move things around a little. :)
