How to I place selected high resolution pictures on an 8 1/2 x 11 canvas (the size of my print paper)? I have set my Image | Print Size to for example 3 1/5 x 5 and now would like to arrange four copies on the page. I do not want to Image | Scale Image and reduce the resolution, except to view where of course I will need about 96 pixels per inch - but I would like to keep the copy being printed at about 200.

Your printer settings should do that for you. Look at your printer manual. File > Print... in GIMP.

Thanks but not interested in printing a single image multiple times - trying to layout several different pictures, even with different sizes on the 8 1/2 x 11 page yet do not want to reduce their print resolution to 96 pixels /inch which would be the case if I just copy and paste the desired visible sizes.
