I am having an issue with the curves dialog box that started within the past couple of days and was hoping someone might know something about it!

I was attempting to install new Gimp scripts for Curves when I could not make the curves dialog box pop up. When I go to Colors > Curves literally nothing happens. I have uninstalled and re-installed Gimp but have still encountered the issue.

I have been using Gimp for a while on my laptop and I noticed this issue first happening a few days ago. I have no idea what could have happened, it worked fine before!

Does anyone know how I can get that dialog box to appear again?

Have you tried, Edit -> Preferences -> Reset button?

Just tried, and it still didn't work :/

I even tried installing Gimp 2.8 to see if that worked with my OS better, but no dice.

AH! I just tried again, and it seems to be working now!! Somewhere between uninstalling, re-installing, and restoring defaults, it must have been fixed!

Thanks for your advice, Odinbc!

Welcome to Gimp Chat boop.

When you install Gimp-2.8 it uses the same GIMP-2 folder
This folder is located in your USERFOLDER
ie... documents and settings/USERFOLDER/gimp-2.6/ sub directories here
Inside this gimp-2.6 folder is a set of rc files ... gimprc, gtkrc, and others.
Remove or delete this folder (gimp-2.6) , and restart gimp-2.6.12
This resets all your files to first load restart.

That should fix it.

For now on be sure and use the NEW gimp-2.6 folder that will be created inside your USERFOLDER to collect resources. ie.. put brushes, scripts and plug-ins there NOT in the PROGRAMS/gimp-2.6 directory.

Let me know if that helps. :)
