 Post subject: Text Beveling in 2.8

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Linux
OS Version: Ubuntu 12.04
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level



I am not extremely familiar with gimp but I cant seem to find how to bevel and emboss and shadow..etc..the text? In 2.6 it was under script-fu but all i get is console and start server. any ideas?

I believe bevel is in Filters/decor, Emboss in Filters/Distorts and shadow is in Filters/light and shadow. There is a great python bevel plugin. I'll try and find it for you.

Thanx!! So I just place that attachment into the gimp folder and then its done?

If you've installed python then you place it in the plugins folder. If you haven't installed python it won't work. I'll try and find the python thread. I think Photocomix has the python downloads on his DA site.

And if you don't have that than go and get the script-fu version of Layer effects. It runs fine, you just can't preview the effect.

There are also a few 3D scripts available.
3dscript.scm
3D-FUN.scm
And a few others out there.
3Diffy comes to mind. :)
