Hey guys,
I'm trying to make text revolve around the z axis, so I'm using map object. Rotating then duplicating etc. but the problem is that it gets really blurry and before its even 90 degrees around out of the 360 I want it to do its almost impossible to read, any suggestions? Thanks :)

Personally, I would use GAP and adapt the following tutorial. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2255 It's much easier than doing it manually.

Don't rotate the successive layers by the same small amount, but always rotate the original text layer by an increasing amount.

For sharper results, using a different technique:
- Path from text in the Text tool
- Produce rotated version of the path
- For each path, Path to selection/Bucket-fill selection in new layer
