GIMP Version: 2.8.0
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

This is what my GIMP is looking like since I've downloaded the new GIMP version 2.8. I have Windows 7 and I do use the Aero Themes for Windows 7. So, I have no idea why GIMP is appearing in a default Windows theme. Any suggestions?

You simply need some themes to pretty up the interface. :) Is this my version you downloaded?

@Bonita,I think you have to set up your themes in Gimp, not in Windows. That is my understanding.

Bonita,

OK if you are using my version, please do not download any DLLs or some such. :)

To get you started attached is the nice "dark" theme you can use to get started.

Using 7z (from http://www.7-zip.org/), unzip the attached zip onto your C:\Users\Bonita\.gimp-2.8\themes directory. When you are done, there should be a folder called blappleness in the above directory. Now restart Gimp. Click Edit -> Preferences -> Theme. Select blappleness and either the theme will change automatically or restart Gimp and you should have a new shiny black interface. Let me know if this does not work.

Of course, in the above I am assuming Bonita is your username on your system. If not, please make the appropriate substitution.
