I know it was in GT. I'll have another look. Also, I know it was in the official tutorials as I didn't go through the user contributed there.

Maybe this is it. I noticed he used the Waves filter, just not the one for animation. I know I got better looking results by playing around.

Thought i would have a go at it. Using the Filters>Animations>Rippling filter effect on just a selection of the water.

You can crop it to size in Gimp very easily.

I made a Youtube tutorial on this subject. There are two examples. the first is using a mirror and the second one using water. Hope this helps.

The reflect version looks pretty darn cool Rod. I might try installing with Wine but I haven't had much success with that.

It is a nice drawing Camamaja. It kind of reminds me of Patrick Nagel's work. What is your intention with the water, though? It seems like the epicenter of the ripples should be around her fingers but I don't know what you're going for.

I guess i read camamja post wrong, thought it was about making the water drawing move, not a real photo of water
big difference
nice job Rod on the reflection

thanks everyone!!!!

and thanks especially to ROD and PC. It is just the way I had it in my head. Now I can finally continue with the drawing (didn't see the need to do so if I couldn't make the waves/ripples work in the first place... ) So thanks.
I promise to show you the end result (but please be patient...)

thanks for the compliment
as for the ripples, just ignore them as they were a failure anyway.... (but I guess that's clear already ;-))
