My toolbox has a leak. About half the tool icons disappear from time to time. I usually just X out the window and bring it up again and they are restored, but occasionally it comes back with all of the options missing. That is easily fixed, but dang, it's really annoying.

Stretching the window horizontally doesn't make any difference.

... and, of course, it happens when I'm really involved with something and don't want to deal with the problem.

Wow i thought it was just me.Same here.Does your font kinda fade in spots too O?
Sometimes my font (not just Gimp), loses its opacity in places. :)

Maybe it's just Fedora.Did you upgrade to Gimp-2.8.2 also?

Even some of my Wine programs open with very unreadable font.

I haven't noticed fading fonts but will certainly watch for that now.

Yes, I have v2.8.2.

What graphics card are you using, Rod? I have an nVidia card.

It's not necessarily gimp. Fedora 17 is a bit cranky in the graphics department, too.

Yeah Fedora 17 is a pretty great release but it does have a few quirks to work out. :)
I am not sure which Graphic Card i have O.I believe it is ATI/AMD Radeon.

I've never had disappearing tools in Gimp.
But what you wrote about text happened to me after running a youtube movie.
It's caused by flash but AFAIK only with nvidia graphic cards.
If you want to know what hardware you've got just run "lspci -v".
This might need to have "pciutils" installed.
Gerard.

Gimp 2.8.2 ...

Just had this issue yesterday. Thought it was just something stupid I had done. (Wouldn't be the first time.)

Ended up having to delete all presets and the cache and prefetch settings to restore the toolbox defaults.

I don't think it's strictly a Fedora issue since I am currently running Windows 7.

If it happens again, before you start changing the settings and restoring to defaults, try clicking the X up in the right corner of the Toolbox to close it, then click Windows in the Menu, click Recently Closed Docks and you should be able to restore your Toolbox window from there with your settings intact.

Yeah there shouldn't be any need to delete anything.
Normally i just restart Gimp after saving the workspace file.

Maybe this is just an issue with Gimp-2.8?

Funny thing is i just updated my software and haven't had any issues since then. (yesterday)

I'm way behind the times. I'm still running 2.6.11. Granted I am only just getting back to the computer.
