Print Xcf and psd ?
i didn't know was possible print multilayer images...well i doubt is possible

if you want print the visible of your images simply use File/save as copy to make a png copy

and print that

PS remember that even when the print size is apparently much smaller of the image on screen, you have not to scale down the original image but set print size in the pritnter dialog

I'm saying it doesn't print at all. The printer icon appears in the taskbar (lower right of my screen) for about 3 seconds, and then it disappears. I'm on windows xp.

Here is what i need to do sometimes.
I have this program called FastStone Capture. What i do is take a picture of the image and print that.
There is a print option built right into the FastStone editor.
Every time i have a problem with my printer i use this method and 99 out of 100 times it works nicely. =)

Hope that helps.

This is what I do, and it has worked for me 100% of the time. I make sure the image is saved first.
I right click on any layer in the layers palette and select "Flatten Image".
Then I print the image and undo the flatten. If for some reason it doesn't unflatten, just don't re-save it. I have never had it not undo a flatten.

Photomaster, no matter what I do in GIMP, it doesn't print. It's because I'm using GIMP to print. Regardless of the file format (xcf, jpeg, psd), it won't print unless I open the file with Photoshop and print it using Photoshop.

Anyway, I'm using gimp 2.6, I'll try 2.7

Be back later.

There are also several print plugin for Gimp (that installed by default is just one there are more ) some may even work better, but the problem are just the printer driver..some ae supported well..other sort of..some not at all

But why print from gimp, without need of PS you may print from viewer (irfanview ,xnview )or from MS Office or OpenOffice..
