OS Version: openSuSE 12.1 (Asparagus)
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Hi,

I have a brand new Genius EasyPen i405X tablet.
The kernel recognized it immediately after I plugged in.
It is working as a mouse on the Xfce desktop in the applications incl. GIMP, but the pressure event isn't recognized.

After some googling I found some posts on other forums, where they said: the solution is in the GIMP settings, but nobody said the rigth option. :-)
I enabled it in the "Configure Extended Input Devices" dialog .

Could you give me some idea?

Thx.

Regards,
Peter

I can only speak for Windows but it might be the same in Linux. 2.6 has a bug that prevents Gimp from reading your tablet as a tablet unless you open Gimp with your pen. This appears to force Gimp to recognize it so if you've been opening it with your mouse - don't. Use your tablet.

Solved...

I upgraded the OS to openSuSE 12.2 with a 3.4 kernel, and everything is OK now without further hocus-pocus... :-)
