 Post subject: spaceship texture, how to quantize sharpen enhance it?

hi there, i have this spaceship texture, i had a go at all obvious plugins to make it more square and sharpent it but didnt get a very good result. for example the mosaic tiles can't be set with a spacing of 0!!! so they do this!

what would you do to improve this one? a list of cool tricks please :)

Clearly, this is the edges your problem, your shapes are indeed not square they seem to be rounded, because of the blurry edges, a square has strong edge if you blur it you'll obtain a cylinder like shape.
Anyway, I gave it a go, not manually.

I've attached the curves I used, I also used refocus plugin (default settings) to sharpen the whole

I don't know if I'm on the right track, but the following was accomplished by bump mapping the image with itself using an elevation of "5" and a depth of "2".

i like both version of anarkhya and saulgoode - they look better
saulgoode's texture look epic, like theres lot of detail going on the surface of the ship,
while the red glow of anarkhya's version gives it a mystical vibe
