GIMP Version: 2.8
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

I was told to come here after I'm having problems and had no luck with googling the issue.

I've recently moved to a new laptop. My old ones had windows xp and windows 7. Once I got over the enabling the tablet sensitivity on there I had no issues.

I now have a brand new annoying-as-hell windows 8 laptop.

Remembering the issues, I enabled the sensitivity again on this laptop.

However I have a completely new problem now, as soon as I click the window that gimp is on my tablet's pen will not respond at all. I can move the pointer with my track pad, but not the tablet pen. As soon as I click off the window, the tablet will work fine once again, it also works fine on other programs, gimp is the only issue.

I have no idea what to do.. it just wont work. Help please.

Hi, Leer!

From what you've written I still can see the whole picture without additional information.
Q#1. Did your tablet work with GIMP on old laptops?
Q#2. Did your tablet not work with GIMP on your new set at all or has it stopped working only after you enabled pressure sensitivity?
Q#3. Have you configured you tablet in GIMP Preferences>Input Devices?

1. Yes it did. I had no problems once I fixed the sensitivity
2. I didn't try it before changing it because it was a sensitivity problem on my old PC so I automatically changed it
3. That's where I put the sensitivity on. Only the eraser and sensitivity pops up though.

[font=Tahoma]Sorry for delayed response, I was tied up with errands yesterday.
It seems you've done everything right. I'm afraid I have no definitive answer, maybe, try to toggle fullscreen in GIMP (F11) and see if that makes GIMP recognize the tablet. If you still have GIMP on your old laptops with which your tablet worked, try to copy configuration files from GIMP folder to your new set:
controllerrc, devicerc. Rename temporarily your current config files (eg, controllerrc.old, etc) and go from there. Hope this helps.
