I lost my Layers window, and was wondering how to get it back up, and if there were any other useful windows and how to open them.

Go to Window>Recenly Docked. You can also add tabs and extensions by dragging dialogue windows near where you want to dock them. below is a screen shot of my dialogues box. :)

I only Dock my History on my tools (that's what's cool about the GIMP customizations; everyone has a preference). I still hope they don't opt for the single window mode. Sorry PS lovers, but I like the multiple windows; weird I am I guess. lol

I love the single window mode in 2.7 i just hope 2.8 version remembers the window settings when it closes.
