Hi,

I'm having trouble adding the copyright symbol to an image...

I've tried ctrl+c and ctrl+alt+0169

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Chris

I don't have a direct answer to your question, however, I usually just use this Script-fu to create a copyright symbol. (Command is added under "Filters->Render" and draws the symbol within the selection.)

Just tried this out and it works for me on a Linux Mint PC.
Hold down control-shift-u whilst using the text box and a small letter u will appear, then type a9 and hit enter.

G'MIC is the ultimate Gimp plug-in. A must have!

Press Ctr+Shift+u then type a9 and press enter should work.
If it doesn't work on the canvas, try it using the Text Editor.

How do I get rid of the boxed "U" after holding down control-shift-u? I have several and they wont go away.

Use the Text Editor dialog option for Unicode.
