Hello,

I'm trying to customize Aurora Midnight to my likings and I've encountered a problem I have not been able to avoid.
I've decided to open a new topic, even though it somewhat follows the discussion here: http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4076

I've tweaked my Aurora Midnight gtkrc file but I can't seem to get rid of the annoying white shadow that shows up under disabled menu entries. As far as I can tell, it's not something that can be tinkered with in gtkrc file, since it shows up in all themes, even when using an empty gtkrc. But maybe I just used the wrong options...

So if you have any clues :)

I can't try anything as I don't use themes, but some searching led to this page, which may suggest something to try:

Thanks, I'll have a look at how you managed to get rid of the shadows :)

For me, the Aurora-Midnight works very well (XP 32 bit).
What is your score if you put the files in this way?

1. c:\Program Files\Gimp-2.8\share\themes\Aurora-Midnight\gtk-2.0\gtkrc
[or c:\Program Files\Gimp-2.8\share\gimp\2.0\themes\Aurora-Midnight\gtk-2.0\gtkrc]

2. c:\Documents and Settings\Your login name\.gtkrc-2.0

3. c:\Program Files\Gimp-2.8\lib\gtk-2.0\2.10.0\engines\libaurora.dll

Be patient, English is not my language.

--> File was already "C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\themes\Aurora-Midnight\gtk-2.0".
Moving the file to "C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\share\gimp\2.0\themes\Aurora-Midnight\gtk-2.0" didn't help. It showed up in "Preferences\Theme" (it wasn't before) but GIMP wouldn't use it and revert to the default backup theme.

However, I am very interested in getting copies of your "gtk-2.0" and "libaurora.dll". Could you upload them or point to where you got them?

May the fact that I have 64-bit be a problem?

Feel free to ask if there's something I need to rephrase :)
