I created a splashes folder and placed all my Gimp Splash screen image into this folder. Now I get to view my Gimp splash screen images at random each time I open Gimp.
It all works well for me and I was hoping to be able to explain how this can be done. A friend has asked me to help them set this up. I was wondering if anyone could give me a proper explanation on how to set this up?
I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is to create the 'splashes' folder in the correct place and it just takes over as the folder used for the splash screens that are displayed when Gimp opens.
If there's more to it then that, I would need an explanation on how it's done and why it works.
Also this file
appeared in the 'splashes' folder and I'm guessing that this file is why all of this works, but I'm not sure.
Anything that you could add would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
