I will bump this up for you in the hope that someone will give a meaningful answer

You will need to give more details, Which flavour of linux? & 32 or 64 bit? Where did you get the Gimp 2.8.8 packages or did you compile yourself? Where did you get the resynthesizer package or did you compile it yourself?

Are you sure that the resynthesizer plugins 'resynthesizer' & 'resynthesizer-gui' are actually still installed? Are they the correct 32/64 bit versions and are marked as executable?

Using PClinuxOS 32 bit and plugins I compiled a couple of months ago 'heal-selection' works fine here. I do have these installed in my ~/gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder rather than /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/

Depending on linux version you might be better-off on a forum for that linux.

You need to install the plugin.
I do not know if resynthesizer is included in the official "gimp-plugin-registry" Ubuntu package, but I'm pretty sure it is included in the "gimp-plugin-registry" package from this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~otto-kesselgulasch/+archive/gimp

I had to install it separately in Fedora.

OR - in root... yum install resynthesizer

Hi thank you for the answers
I have Ubuntu 13.04 raring ringtail to 64 bits, everything was working fine with Gimp 2.86 to 64 bits and Resynthesizer, I installed both and another plugins long mounths ago from the ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp, but arrives the upgrade 2.88 three days ago I upgrade with it without problems, but to the next day when I want use Resynthesizer appears me the past ERROR messanges of Gimp and Ubuntu that I wrote at the beginning here. I got install Resynthesizer now but appears me yet the same error messages.
Yesterday I uninstalled Resynthesizer with sinaptic completly and reinstalled with the comand sudo apt-get install gimp-resynthesizer but the problem continue
How I can fix it?
Thank you

Are you re-installing the correct package?

In debian based distros (including even 'buntu)
Resynthesizer is part of the gimp-plugin-registry package.

see: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gi ... n-registry

make sure you get the 'amd64' package (if there is one)

I think one of the Linux guys or Linux Ubuntu might be able to help you better. I am pretty green with Linux commands, their are so many. I know that resynthesizer in Windows comes with all the separate files and in Linux you just install it with the terminal or the Software add/remove. sorry, I know it is frustrating when something doesn't work, it will though cuz there are so many brilliant techies on this forum. :ninja
